Mexican Poem

Waking to the Mexican waves on the Mexican shore
With a Mexican hangover dangerous as a Mexican whore,

Blunder through a Mexican room seeking the Mexican toilet,
Splattering Mexican vomit over the Mexican carpet:

The Mexican tequila after the Mexican pizza
And the Mexican lime with Mexican cerveza.

A Mexican weekend in a Mexican town,
A Mexican verb and a Mexican noun.

Rosarito - part one

The two too sober drunks stood on a grassy knoll with fighter jets flying overhead. The slight slope overlooked the sidewalk and gave them a good view of the three buses. They tried to calculate which bus would be carrying the most beer, they watched four coolers go on one bus, five on another and six on the third so they went with the third. It was a gamble because not all of the coolers had beer, some had water and Red Bull, but the two drunks trusted the other drunks enough to have at least figured out what they were doing with their drinks.
Manny Califaz sat down next to Sean Nelson McCormick, both ready to start drinking and have fun for a weekend in Mexico. Beers were opened nearly immediately, but before the engines started a confident older guy boarded the bus and asked how many coolers this bus had. Manny told Sean that the guy was his boss. The boss took one of the coolers and left them one cooler sadder. But they cracked beers (Pacifico and Corona) and made their way south.
The two drunks found themselves surrounded by fools. Some moron with a straw hat asked Sean and Manny for a ‘beer check’ meaning that they weren’t drinking enough. They laughed at him. Two ugly women tried to talk to them, they said their names were Dawn and Dawn. Manny and Sean laughed at them too. A fat middle aged woman and her fat 18 year old daughter tried to be fun and the girl kept asking when they were going to cross the border so she could drink, but was drinking anyway. The two drunks laughed at them but tried to not let them know because any attention is acceptable to most desperate fat chicks. Some skinny Asian guy and his fat friend kept fucking with the seats while Sean and Manny went back and forth from the bathroom which was located at the back of the bus and seemed more condemnable than an old wood outhouse. They tried to laugh at everything.
Our two drunks had each drank a six pack by the time they got to Rosarito, Mexico. They were all herded off the bus, Sean with his seventh beer in hand, to a line in the lobby of the Rosarito Beach Hotel. It was a big reward for Manny’s co-workers. They had filled a certain number of orders and Rosarito was their pay off. They were allowed to bring a guest, most fools brought their girls, but Manny brought his drinking buddy Sean. Manny told him, as they sat on couches in Pacific Beach, San Diego: “They’ll bus us down there and have some sort of presentation Friday night, nothing Saturday, then a fat breakfast Sunday morning and a bus ride back. They provide rooms and rides and some food.” “Sounds good,” said Sean.
And with bright orange plastic bracelets now fixed to their wrists, they entered their new home for the weekend.
